Ask Andy Batt what he does, and you'll get a simple answer: "I'm a photographer". Ask him the inevitable follow up "What do you photograph?", and something strange happens-it's almost like there are suddenly two of him in front of you. The one on the left can't stop talking about how cool it is to work with athletes and dancers, creating exciting action filled images. The one on the right is excitedly talking about cross breeding cinematography with still photography to create intense narrative photo stories. Ask him how he resolves these fields, and both halves blur a little bit, and then snap together crisply as he answers "The subject matter changes, but they really aren't that different-light, form, emotion and a decisive moment-I strive for that in all of my work".
